AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A three-vehicle accident at Interstate 40 and Bell sent three people to the hospital Tuesday afternoon.

Officers at the scene of the wreck say at around noon, a vehicle was using a turnaround and entering the east-bound access road at I-40 and Bell, when the driver failed to yield right-of-way to a car traveling east on the access road.

The collision sent the second vehicle rolling down the embankment and onto the eastbound lanes of I-40.

Officers say the car hit a minivan that was traveling on the interstate.

Eastbound traffic was down to one lane as crews worked to clear the scene of the crash.

Two people from inside the car that rolled were taken to the hospital, as well as one person from inside the minivan.

Officers say all injuries are considered to be non-life-threatening.
