AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A suspicious vehicle call over the weekend led police to recover stolen property and make two arrests.

At around 6:45 Sunday morning, officers were called to the 3400 block of Amherst where they found a pick-up parked next to a fence with several broken pickets.

Inside the truck, they report seeing several maintenance and carpentry equipment items.

While they were investigating, officers say they noticed someone was watching them from a hole in the fence, then took off running.

After more officers were called to the scene, they say two suspects were located in the alley.  They are identified as 17 year-old William Loren Mueller and 18 year-old Nicholas Keith Loewenstern.

They say a third person was found hiding underneath the equipment inside the pick-up, but they were questioned and released.

Mueller and Loewenstern were charged with burglary of a building and booked into the Randall County jail.

The stolen equipment was returned to the owner.
