AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Authorities continue to investigate human remains found near the intersection of West Amarillo Boulevard and I-40 on March 9th.
The remains were found around 11:40 a.m. by a contract worker who was picking up trash along the roadway. The worker was able to flag down a Potter County deputy near the area.
Bones and clothing found at the scene were later taken to a forensic lab at the University of North Texas.
Lt. Erik Bohannon with Amarillo Special Crimes says there's no telling when the results will come back -- he says it could take up to a year.
In March, authorities said they plan on treating the incident as a homicide, even though they have yet to classify it as one.
