AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - More than 100 lbs. of marijuana were found in vacuum-sealed bags during a traffic stop near Wildorado, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The driver, who DPS identified as James Wright, of Laguna Hills, California, was arrested and booked into the Potter County jail on felony possession charges.

Troopers report pulling over Wright's 2015 Ford Expedition Wednesday on I-40 just outside of Amarillo. During the stop, officials say a search was conducted and the narcotics were found inside luggage in the back of the vehicle. The drugs are valued at $782,000, according to DPS.

Authorities believe Wright was taking the drugs to Charlotte, North Carolina, from Los Angeles.
