AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Two Texas residents face felony charges after area state troopers say they found marijuana in their vehicle.
Just before 1:00 p.m. Saturday, troopers stopped a car traveling on US 87 near Dumas in Moore County.
They say a drug dog alerted to the vehicle, leading them to conduct a search.
Inside, they report finding several vacuum-sealed packages of marijuana, all-together weighing nearly 28 pounds and worth more than $167,000.
The driver and passenger, 27 year-old Joseph Faught and 19 year-old Alexis Faught, both of Highlands, Texas, were both arrested and charged with felony possession of marijuana.
Troopers believe the suspects were bringing the drugs to Highlands from La Junta, Colo.
