PAMPA, TX (KFDA) - Emergency officials lifted evacuation orders in Pampa Wednesday evening.

Businesses were evacuated earlier Wednesday due to wildfire concerns in neighboring Hutchinson County. The city's Wal-Mart was evacuated as well as other structures nearby.

Early reports from the city indicated the hospital had been evacuated, but hospital officials later said that was untrue. Plans were later made for a possible evacuation, plans which University Medical Center in Lubbock said it would assist with should it be necessary. UMC's bus has since been called back to Lubbock.

The Northcrest subdivision was also evacuated.

First United Methodist Church, First Baptist Church, Central Baptist Church, and the Pampa optimist Club were used as shelters for evacuees.
