AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Texas state troopers on Saturday uncovered several pounds of drugs in a traffic stop along I-40.
Just after 3:00 p.m., troopers say they pulled over a van for a traffic violation near Conway in Carson County.
A DPS canine unit was dispatched to the location, and reportedly alerted troopers to the vehicle.
Inside a hidden floorboard compartment, troopers say they found several packages of heroin and cocaine, all-together weighing more than 16 pounds.
The driver, 45 year-old Alejandro Icedo of Tucscon, Ariz., was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Carson County jail.
Troopers believe the drugs were being taken from Phoenix to Oklahoma City.
