AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A north Amarillo woman involved in an apparent domestic dispute Monday died from asphyxiation, the Amarillo Police Department said.

Police revealed the autopsy results for 27-year-old Kristen King Tuesday. Responding officers found King pinned under a car near N.E. 24th and Manhattan St. Monday afternoon. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ralph Owens is currently held in the Potter County Jail on a felony murder and assault charges. Police have not said how King knew the suspect.

Officials say another woman at the scene was hit by the car Owens was believed to be driving. However, her injuries are not life-threatening.

Traffic in the area was blocked Monday afternoon while police investigated the incident in question. APD and Special Crimes searched the scene and interviewed witnesses, and police say several people were detained before charging Owens with King's death.

Special Crimes continues to ask anyone with information to call 378-9468.
