AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Police have now released the name and photo of the suspect.

Amarillo police identify the suspect as Michael Jay Shepherd.

Michael has 2 felony warrants for Aggravated Assault Causing Serious Bodily Injury.

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Amarillo police now know the motive behind Monday night's pool hall shooting.

Reports show the suspect previously dated the woman who was shot in both arms and her hip.

A 32-year-old man was also shot at Slim's Pool Palace. He suffered from two gunshot wounds, but both victims are expected to survive.

Officers are still working to find out how the injured man is connected. Special Crimes continues to investigate.

There have been no arrests made in the case so far.


AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Two people were shot Monday evening at Slim's Pool Palace in Amarillo, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Both victims, one male and one female, were taken to an area hospital. The male is listed in life-threatening condition. The female is in stable condition, according to police.

Police say the shooting happened around 8:45 Monday evening at the business, located at 2514 S. Georgia St. No arrests have been made at this time, although police say they are looking for a black man who drove away in a red Charger. Officials said the Charger had New Mexico license plates.

The entrance to the business has been taped off.
