Woman held at gunpoint after evading arrest in Taco Villa drive-through

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A woman was held at gunpoint Wednesday after evading arrest at a local restaurant.

Police say on March 2 around 11:00 p.m. 46-year-old Brandon Howard tried to use a forged check in the drive-through of Taco Villa on Amarillo Blvd.

When police arrived they blocked her vehicle inside the drive-through preventing her from leaving. Howard then reversed her vehicle backing over concrete and grass until the car became stuck on a large boulder. Howard continued to attempt to evade by shifting her car from reverse to drive and spinning out the tires. Police held Howard at gunpoint until back up officers arrived and were able to take her into custody.

Howard was taken to Potter County Jail on felony charges of Forgery and Evading Arrest with a Vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation by the Amarillo Police Department.
