ODESSA, TX (KFDA) - Odessa police have taken a gun from a home in the investigation of a teenager accused of murdering his parents.
Ector County jail records show 17-year-old James McDonald was being held Thursday without bond on a capital murder charge.
Cpl. Steve LeSueur says the teen was charged as an adult in Wednesday's fatal shooting of James McDonald and Jana McDonald.
Police say the suspect's 23-year-old sister was home at the time but not injured. Reports say the sister told police her brother came into her room and said he planned to shoot their parents. The sister says she thought it was a joke until she heard gunfire.
