AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Trinity Lutheran youth are collecting shoes for those who don't have them in third world countries.
The shoes will go to Haiti, Honduras and other countries in Central America and Africa.
Their goal is to collect 2,500 shoes.
"They could do cookie drives, they could do all kinds of things to raise money, but they wanted to do something that had a global impact," said Family Life Minister Charessa Koontz. "I just think that is so special for our youth to do that."
Trinity Lutheran will also be collecting shoes Saturday, Feb. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the church.
The church is accepting gently worn, used or new shoes.
