Clovis woman sentenced on two felony drug counts

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Following a recent guilty plea to felony drug charges, a New Mexico woman will now face three years in prison.

New Mexico's Ninth Judicial District Attorney's Office says 23 year-old Heather Lyon pleaded guilty to two counts of conspiracy to commit drug trafficking, both third-degree felonies, on Feb. 8.

In June 2014, authorities followed a tip to a Portales motel, where they found Lyon in a room with heroin, drug paraphernalia and a large sum of cash.

After she serves three years in prison, Lyon is ordered to four years of supervised probation, which will include drug court.
