AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - An Amarillo man is dead after an accident that police say could be the result of street racing.
Jeremiah Hunter of Amarillo was killed Tuesday evening when he lost control of his car on the Hughes-Adams overpass.
Another driver, April Stone of Amarillo and her passenger Charlie Reed were struck by Hunter's car. Reed was airlifted to a Lubbock hospital with critical injuries while Stone was treated locally.
The overpass was shut down for most of the evening. Officers say they got reports that Hunter was racing another vehicle, which is why speed was a factor.
Police are asking you to call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400 if you have any information about this accident.
