AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - An Amarillo woman is behind bars after police say she was trying to cash a stolen check with a stolen ID.

Just before 5:30 p.m. Monday, officers were called to The People's Federal Credit Union on Hillside Road, where they say they found 31 year-old Neeley Alisa Guest, attempting to cash a check.

Officers say they discovered both the check and ID Guest was using had been reported stolen in recent car burglaries in Amarillo.

Further investigation allegedly revealed that Guest was in possession of several other stolen forms of ID.

She was booked into the Randall County jail, charged with forgery of a financial instrument and third-degree felony fraudulent use or possession of identifying information.

Amarillo police urges citizens to avoid leaving identifying information in their vehicles.
