State troopers uncover meth in weekend traffic stop

AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - In a traffic stop on Interstate 40 Saturday, Texas state troopers say they found over $258,000 in methamphetamine.

Just after midnight early Saturday morning, troopers near Vega in Oldham County stopped a 2016 Volkswagen Jetta for a traffic violation.

During the stop, troopers say a canine unit alerted to the vehicle.

Inside, they say they found nearly three pounds of meth hidden underneath the spare tire.

The driver and passenger, 29 year-old Kristine Krall and 26 year-old Sean Miller, both of Palm Springs, Calif., were both charged with felony possession of a controlled substance and booked into the Oldham County jail.

Troopers believe the drugs were being taken from Palm Springs to Chicago, Ill.
