CLOVIS, NM (KFDA) - A suspected Clovis arsonist is back in jail after briefly being released.
Angye Madrid was arrested Friday for reportedly starting five fires at Clovis businesses. Later Friday night, Madrid bonded out.
After learning about Madrid's release, the Clovis Police Department and the 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office obtained warrants for additional charges.
"Due to overwhelming concern for the safety of our community and the continued threats to members of the community and businesses by this individual, the Clovis Police Department and 9th Judicial District Attorney's Office felt it imperative to take the necessary steps to keep Madrid from committing any other crimes of this magnitude," said the CPD in a news release.
Madrid was arrested once again on charges of possession of burglary tools, aggravated burglary, felon in possession of a destructive device and possession of explosive device or incendiary device.
She is being held in the Curry County Detention Center on a $105,000 cash only bond.
