Amarillo, TX (KFDA) - The Texas Department of Public Safety seized over $127,000 in marijuana Sunday during a traffic stop.
Around 5:20 p.m. on Jan. 31, a DPS trooper stopped a Toyota van for a traffic violation on I-40 near Conway in Carson County. During the stop, the trooper conducted a search of the van and found several packages of marijuana inside suitcases.
The drugs weighed over 21 lbs, according to reports.
Officials identified the driver as 48-year-old Tung Phan of Perris, California, and passenger, 39-year-old Truong Nguyen, of San Jose, California.
Both suspects were arrested and booked into the Carson County jail and charged with a felony possession of marijuana.
Troopers say the drugs were being transported from California to Atlanta.
