Middle school student arrested for graffiti threat

Amarillo, TX (KFDA) - A Travis Middle School student has been arrested in relation to a threatening message left in a bathroom.

Amarillo Police Department and AISD officials have been looking into school threats and rumors spread by social media this week.

In their investigation, police arrested a female teenager on charges of False Alarm or Report.

Police say the charges stem from graffiti found yesterday afternoon in a girls bathroom at the school. Reports say the graffiti mentioned causing "serious bodily injury or death" at Travis Middle School on February 3rd.

The teenage female was taken to the Youth Detention Center.

APD and AISD officials say they will continue investigations of threats and graffiti at Amarillo schools and if anyone with involvement is identified they will be charged.
