PLAINVIEW, TX (KFDA) -  A Plainview man is behind bars for allegedly stealing six calves from area ranchers.

According to Dean Bohannon, a special ranger for the Texas and Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, an investigation revealed Jim Bob Beene stole a calf from the Plainview Rodeo Arena.

After being arrested on Friday, Bohannon said Beene then confessed to stealing five other calves from a Canyon rancher while building a fence for him in Swisher County.

Beene is charged with three counts of third degree felony theft of livestock and is being held in the Hale County Jail.
