AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - A recent traffic stop near Amarillo netted more than 35 pounds of methamphetamine, which Texas state troopers believe was brought over from Mexico.
Just after 9:30 Tuesday morning, troopers stopped a mini-van for a traffic violation on I-40 near Conway.
During the stop, troopers say they found 27 bundles of meth hidden inside the structure of several picture frames.
Troopers estimate the drugs' total value to be more than $3,000,000.
The driver and passenger, 24 year-old Edir Del Carmen Ortega-Moncada and 33 year-old Daniel Soto-Hernandez, both from Tijuana, Mexico, were arrested and booked into the Carson County jail, charged with felony possession of a controlled substance.
Troopers believe the drugs were being taken from Tijuana to Atlanta, Ga.
