Two arrested after breaking into Saint Mary's School
William Erwin Dewald, 28 and Amber Lee Dewald, 30, are both charged with burglary of a building.
AMARILLO, TX (KFDA) - Around midnight on Jan. 21, APD officers were dispatched to the St. Mary’s School at 1200 S Washington on a burglary alarm.
When officers arrived they began checking the building for any signs of entry. Officers then located a basement window broken out and called for additional officers as well as the K-9 unit to assist in the search.
After the building was secured on the outside, officers and the K-9 unit entered the school and began searching the building. The dog found William Dewald, and Amber Dewald on the fourth floor, and they were taken into to custody.
Mr. Dewald was initially transported to a local hospital for medical treatment for dog bites from the police dog. Both were later booked into the Potter County Correction Center on a charge of Burglary of a Building.
