AMARILLO - A crash on I-40 near the Georgia St. exit injured one occupant and stalled traffic for over an hour Wednesday night.
Around 7:00 p.m., police say a westbound driver attempted to change lanes and struck another car. The collision caused both cars to crash into the center median. One of the cars came to a rest upside-down.
An occupant in one of the vehicles was taken to an area hospital, but the condition of that person is unknown as of early Thursday. Police were also unable to say if there were additional factors that may have caused the crash.
The wreck stalled westbound traffic for nearly an hour Wednesday evening. Drivers were forced to one lane as police and other first responders assessed and cleared the scene. Traffic was reopened about an hour after the wreck.
Police are continuing to investigate the cause of the collision.
