Early morning car theft ends with two arrests

Amarillo, TX - Police arrested two suspects Tuesday morning after being pulled over in stolen car.

Amarillo police were called to the 3600 block of NE 29th on a call of a stolen car. The victim told police they left their Toyota running outside to warm up, when they came back outside their car was gone.

Minutes later, police say they responded to another call at the 2900 block of Ricks St on another stolen car. The second victim told police they also left their car running to warm it up and when they came back it was gone. Shortly after, during the investigation, officers found the Toyota a block down from Ricks St. Shortly after police were informed the second stolen vehicle was spotted driving north in the 200 block of Ross/Mirror.

Officers stopped the car in the 1600 block of NE 4th and removed a male driver and female passenger.

The driver is identified as 26 year old Fernando Dominguez. Dominguez is facing charges of Unauthorized use of a Motor Vehicle, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia and three traffic warrants.

The passenger, identified as 23 year old Deanna Sherman, faces charges of Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Narcotic Paraphernalia.

Both suspects were booked into the Potter County Jail and the incidents are still under investigation.
