TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) - A Texas fugitive charged in his father's killing has been captured in Arizona two years after fleeing.
U.S. Marshals Service officials said Saturday that 26-year-old Brendan Kai Moffitt is awaiting extradition in a Tucson jail.
Marshals say they developed information that indicated Moffitt was living in an apartment with a friend.
Pima County Sheriff's deputies assisted in surveillance and a task force arrested him without incident.
The Hutchinson County Sheriff's Office says Moffitt was charged with first-degree murder in the death of Herschel Moffitt.
Authorities found the elder Moffitt's body with multiple gunshot wounds at his Borger home on Jan. 1, 2014.
They say Brendan Moffitt posted bail after his arrest and fled a few weeks later.
It was not known Saturday if he had an attorney.
