TEXAS (KFDA) - A Pampa resident was killed Thursday morning after driving his car off a roadway in Roberts County and eventually over a 20-foot cliff.
State troopers identified the deceased driver as 84-year-old Francis John Sokolosky.
Officials say Sokolosky was traveling on FM 282 just west of Miami when his vehicle left the roadway, traveled into a bar ditch, through a fence and into a field. His car then went over a cliff and landed on its side.
The exact cause of the crash is unknown as of early Friday morning, but Troopers say a medical condition could have caused Sokolosky to drive off the roadway. Road conditions were normal at the time of the crash.
Sokolosky was pronounced dead at the scene. Troopers say he was not wearing a seat belt.
