AMARILLO - An Amarillo man wanted by police was arrested early Tuesday morning, according to the Amarillo Police Department.

Coury Ney O'Neill, 30, was booked into the Randall County Jail on multiple charges after a search for the man led them to a home in the 4600 block of Ong St. in Amarillo. There, police say they found O'Neill in possession of an AR-15 and a ballistic vest.

Police say they were searching for O'Neill on a warrant for Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon. The department also believed O'Neill was anti-police, as the suspect had made threatening remarks about police in the past.

Officers obtained a search warrant for the home after O'Neill was arrested, according to the APD. In addition to the weaponry, police say they found narcotics, prescription pills, and paraphernalia in his possession.

O'Neill was booked into jail on Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Felon in Possession of Body Armor, and Possession of Dangerous Drugs charges among others.
