AMARILLO, TX - Police have released descriptions for the two men police say are responsible for the murder of 27-year-old Roberto Guadalupe Vasquez.
APD describes the first suspect as a thin black male, 5'8" tall wearing a dark hoodie.
The second is described as possibly being a black male, taller than the first suspect, wearing tan pants and armed with a handgun.
This is the only information police know about the suspects at this time.
Several neighbors that live on SE 8th were shocked that something like this would happen in their neighborhood.
Freddy Mendoza lives a few doors down from the crime scene, and learned about the shooting when police came to his door.
"This neighborhood's a really calm neighborhood and nothing like this happens over here. So it's crazy to see there's a shooting right here and somebody got killed. I'm really surprised by that."
Around 9 p.m., the APD officers were dispatched to 1736 SE 8th after a shooting was reported there.
Once officers arrived they found Vasquez with what appeared to be a gun shot wound to his upper body. Vasquez was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
Justice of the Peace, Debbie Horn, ordered an autopsy that will be preformed Tuesday in Lubbock.
Special Crimes investigators believe a person with knowledge of the shooting was still inside the house and would not answer.
The Amarillo Police Department SWAT Team was called to assist in searching the house. The SWAT Team along with deputies from Randall County Sheriff's Office Hard Entry and Tactical Team made contact with a person inside the house, and that person was questioned by investigators.
The investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call 806-378-9468.
