Man dead after five vehicle crash

Quay County, NM - A man is dead after a five vehicle crash involving three commercial motor vehicles and two passenger cars. 

The incident occurred on Sunday, December 20, 2015 around 4:30 p.m., near mile marker 309 on Interstate 40, west of Tucumcari, New Mexico. 

25 year old Ahmed Babah from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania was driving a commercial motor vehicle westbound on Interstate 40 when he rear-ended another commercial motor vehicle pushing it forward into three other vehicles. The other vehicles involved were stopped on the highway due to another crash that occurred near mile marker 300. 

Babah sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. This incident remains under investigation.
