AMARILLO, TX - A local man is in jail after a domestic violence call Tuesday led to the recovery of $365,000 worth of heroin.

Police arrested 29 year-old Samuel Cuellar after responding to the call in the 4500 block of Steffi Court around 11:00 a.m.

During the call officers learned that Cuellar had assaulted and choked a woman who suffered minor injuries from the incident. Further investigation led responding officers to find evidence of narcotics in the home.

A search warrant was drafted, signed, and then executed on the residence. APD recovered 730 grams of black tar heroin, less than 2 ounces of marijuana, three rifles, and one pistol in their search.

Cuellar has been booked into the Randall County Jail on charges of Manufacturing/Delivery of Controlled Substance Penalty Group 1 over 400 grams, and Assault of a Family/House Member Impeding Breath/Circulation.
