State troopers uncover more than $134,000 in cash

Amarillo, TX - An out-of-state driver faces money laundering charges after Texas state troopers say they found illegal currency stashed inside their vehicle.

At around 10:40 a.m. Thursday, troopers pulled over a pick-up traveling on Interstate 40 near Conway.

Hidden inside a false compartment in the floor of the pick-up, troopers say they found several plastic-wrapped bundles of cash, all-together worth more than $134,000.

The driver, 21 year-old Alexis Villalvazo-Caraves of Forest Park, Georgia, was booked into the Carson County jail, charged with money laundering.

Troopers believe the cash was being taken from Atlanta, Georgia to Texas.
