Amarillo, TX - On Thursday, December 10, Texas Health and Human Services Commission is hosting a public hearing on its transformation plan involving the Texas Health and Human Services System.
The hearing starts at 1:30 p.m. and will be held at Trinity Fellowship Ministries located at 5000 Hollywood Road.
Representative Four Price encourages all area residents and organizations that are impacted in any manner by any aspect of the Texas Health and Human Services System Commission to attend the public hearing. HHSC is holding the hearing to obtain the public's input on the reorganization of its operating structure and delivery system.
The Texas Health and Human Services System is comprised on HHSC and four departments: Department of State Health Services, Department of Aging and Disability services, Department of Assistive and Rehabilitative Services, and the Department of Family Protective Services. Together, these five state agencies account for approximately one-third of all state budget expenditures.
HHSC is conducting hearings around the state and this hearing is the only one being held north of Abilene.
