Man carrying four guns and 200 rounds of ammunition arrested for aggravated assault

AMARILLO, TX - Amarillo Police arrested Brian Scott Anderson around 10:00 pm Wednesday night after receiving calls reporting an armed suspect at the Willow Glen Apartments.

Witnesses say Anderson had been drinking and was in possession of several weapons in an apartment where a woman, who was not replying to their texts, was trying to calm him.

Officers on scene saw Anderson step outside the apartment and make his way to the parking lot carrying a handgun in each hand, in addition to a shotgun with a strap holding shells slung on his body, and another gun on a sling in front of his chest.

Anderson was detained at gunpoint, and ordered by officers to drop his weapons. After refusing to drop his guns, he finally agreed to put down the weapons but refused to comply with the officer's commands to get on the ground. Moments later, Anderson finally placed his hands on his head and dropped to his knees, and was taken into custody.

Police collected a .410 gauge bolt action shotgun with ammunition, a .22 semi-automatic rifle, a 9 mm handgun, and a .380 caliber handgun from the suspect. Anderson was carrying in excess of 200 rounds of ammunition on his person at the time of the arrest.

Further investigation revealed Anderson had pointed a handgun at the woman in the apartment, and threatened to shoot her. He was booked into the Potter County Detention Center of a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon/ domestic violence.
