AMARILLO, TX - The death of a nine month-old is under investigation after a preliminary autopsy revealed the child was strangled to death.
Officers of the Amarillo Police Department arrived at an address on SW 4th Ave on Saturday after receiving a call that a baby was not breathing.
An ambulance transported the child to a local hospital where he later died. The baby had injuries to his upper body; however, police say investigators could not determine if they were the cause of death.
After a Justice of the Peace ordered the autopsy, officials classified the case as a homicide.
