Special Crimes investigating homicide at Canadian River

Amarillo, TX - An Amarillo man is in custody after a fatal car wreck that happened early Monday morning.  

Police say 30-year-old Kameron Peeks intentionally struck 31-year-old Tammy Strout at the Canadian River Bridge. 

The incident happened just before dawn. According to police, Peeks drove Strout to a hospital in Amarillo after the incident. Special Crimes took over the case from Potter County deputies after suspecting the incident was intentional.

Peeks remains in the Potter County Correction Center on Manslaughter Charges. 

Justice of the Peace Debbie Horn ordered Strout's autopsy to be performed Tuesday morning in Lubbock.
