Amarillo, TX - Center City is promoting the possibilities for old warehouses in downtown Amarillo.
Some warehouses are already turning into lofts or business office, but others are still sitting empty. Center City, an organization that promotes downtown Amarillo, is hoping an open house tour, that took place Sunday afternoon, will inspire some to breath new life into these buildings.
"The warehouses are great old structures. Most of them were built before World War II," said Beth Duke, the executive director for Center City. "They are so sturdy because of how much concrete and brick was used. When someone reuses them, it keeps all of this out of the landfill. It gives it new life and makes it back in business."
