LUBBOCK, TX - Week 2 of the Dr. Thomas Michael Dixon murder-for-hire re-trial is now underway.
Dixon is accused of hiring David Shepard to kill Lubbock pathologist Joseph Sonnier, who was dating Dixon's ex-girlfriend.
Multiple detectives on the case testified Monday, describing and confirming photos taken from searches at Dixon's and Shepard's homes and offices.
Various knives and guns were taken as evidence, and tested for blood samples.
Detective Garland Timms of the Lubbock Police Department testified for the second and third times.
He confirmed that an empty Gatorade bottle found in Dixon's car was the same flavor of the empty bottle used to silence the gun at the crime scene.
LUBBOCK, TX - Amarillo doctor Thomas Dixon is found guilty of two counts of capital murder. He is sentenced to life in prison without parole.
