Grand Jury decides no criminal charges will be filed in Michael Wilcox's death

Amarillo, TX - The Potter County Grand Jury met in regards to Michael Wilcox's death.

After two and a half hours of presentation and deliberation the Grand Jury decided that there will be no criminal charges filed in regards to Wilcox's death.

In May, Wilcox was tased after a verbal altercation he had with security personnel at Homer's. District Attorney, Randall Sims, said Wilcox suffered a heart attack but the cause of the attack could not be determined.

The toxicology report revealed alcohol was present in Wilcox's system; however, it is not linked to his death. Sims said the Pathologist on the case determined several factors could have contributed to Wilcox's death.

Sims said he suffered from two heart conditions. Wilcox had an enlarged heart and issues with one of his coronary arteries.

These issues along with the incidents of the night such as the restraint and stun gun make determining the cause of the heart attack impossible.
