APD recovers "bricks" of marijuana during traffic stop in Amarillo

AMARILLO, TX - An Amarillo man is booked for possession of illegal narcotics.

An Amarillo Police Department motor officer stopped a black 2008 Jeep for a traffic violation mid-day Tuesday near 10th and Fillmore.

During the time the officer issued the citation, he became suspicious due to the restlessness of the driver in the car. He then requested assistance from an APD narcotics detection canine team, and the dog alerted on the Jeep.

A search of the vehicle produced six "bricks" of marijuana in a plastic sack in the floor behind the driver's seat. The illegal substances weighed approximately six pounds.

The Amarillo driver, Christopher Dean Grine, aged 33, was booked into the Potter County Jail on charges of possession of marijuana over five pounds, but less than 50 pounds.
