AMARILLO, TX - Amarillo Police Department need help locating a wanted robbery suspect.

Around 6:00 pm on September 25, 2015, the suspect approached a woman in her seventies on the south side of the United Market Street on Georgia Street in Amarillo. He pointed a handgun at her and demanded money, but after she told him she didn't have any cash and that she would kick him if he did not leave, he ran on foot and was last seen going behind the store.

A detective investigating the case noticed that this suspect's physical description matched that of a suspect in a purse theft that took place in the parking lot of the Wal-Mart at 5730 Amarillo Boulevard West about 40 minutes after the incident at United. Further investigation led the detective to Fabian Mell Royval who was charged with aggravated robbery.

The Wal-Mart purse thief, confirmed as Royval, was arrested for theft after bystanders reported that he stole a purse from a shopping cart. Witnesses who saw the theft take place, chased and caught the suspect, and physically held him until officers took him into custody.

Royval posted bond after the arrest connected to the purse theft, but is currently wanted on the aggravated robbery charge. Royval is a white male, 5 feet 6 inches tall, 140 pounds, with short, dark hair and wears glasses. He is listed with the DPS Sex Offender registry.

If you have any information that can help locate Royval, please call the Amarillo Police Department at 378-3038 or call Crime Stoppers at 374-4400. Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information leading to his arrest.
