DPS troopers seize methamphetamine and marijuana during traffic stop

AMARILLO, TX - Texas Department of Public Safety conducted a traffic stop yielding almost one pound of methamphetamine valuing over $72,000.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. Thursday morning, a Texas trooper pulled over a 2003 Chevrolet pickup for a traffic violation near Conway in Carson county.

During the stop, DPS troopers say they discovered the methamphetamine and $3,000 worth of marijuana. Reports say the drugs were discovered in the luggage.

According to officials, the occupants of the vehicle were identified as Nicole Thompson and Daniel  Nysven. Both were booked into Carson county jail for Possession of a Controlled Substance over 400 grams, a first-degree felony.
