Police believe weekend robberies may be connected

Amarillo, TX - Officers say they do not know for a fact that two recent robberies involve the same suspect, but note that descriptions and times given by victims do show some similarities.

Saturday night at around 9:00, officers say three female victims reported that they were blocked into a parking spot in front of Zach's Club near 48th and Bell Street by a suspect who attempted to rob them at gunpoint.

The suspect was described as a white man in his mid-20s, wearing sunglasses, a white shirt and blue jeans.

The victims say they did not respond to his threats, and the suspect drove away in a white sports car with dark rims.

At around the same time Saturday night, police say a man in his late 60s reported a robbery with a similar suspect description in the parking lot of Drury Inn and Suites.

Police say the suspect threatened him with a handgun, took his wallet, and fled the scene on foot.

Anyone with additional information on these robberies or this possible suspect are urged to contact Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 806-374-4400.
