    Our recent rain and snow are helping raise the water level at Lake Meredith faster than usual. This past weekend the lake depth hit 64 feet for the first time this year. Since January 1st the lake has risen almost a foot and a half, twice as much as this time last year. But the water level could start to decrease as early as next week. The Canadian River Municipal Water Authority (CRMWA) said it plans to start pumping water out of the lake for cities' use within the next week...

    More than $3 million dollars of Amarillo's budget will be used to create a plan for the future of the city's water supply and quality.

Shannon Smith is NewsChannel 10's Senior Reporter. She joined the station in September 2015, shortly after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in journalism. War Eagle!

At Auburn, Shannon was the News Director of the campus TV station, Eagle Eye TV. She also got a good taste of the news industry from her two internships, both back home in Jacksonville, Florida and also in Huntsville, Alabama.

Shannon is a lifetime dancer and has many years of competition dancing, performance and training under her belt. Besides loving to dance, she also loves reading, rollerblading, watching Auburn Tiger football, traveling and desperately misses the ocean.
