Amarillo, TX - Four men face burglary charges after police say they kicked in the back door of a north Amarillo home.
Officers say Thursday afternoon, two children, including a teenager, were home alone in the 1600 block of North Wilson when a man knocked on the front door with three other men outside with him.
The children decided not to answer the door, and a short time later, officers say the same men kicked in the back door of the home, but left once they saw the children inside.
Police later found the four suspects in the 2000 block of North Houston, and arrested them all on charges of burglary of a habitation.
The suspects, 21 year-old David Earl Hase Jr., 17 year-old Keshawn Johnson, 17 year-old Rodney Alonzo Smith Jr., and 17 year-old Jahkori Deion Gardner were all booked into the Potter County Detention Center.
Police say there have been 19 reported home burglaries in just the last week, and warn that the method of knocking on the front door to see if anyone is home is common among home burglars.
