Golf tournament benefits cancer research

Amarillo, TX - Golfer's took to the greens to play a round and benefit the American Cancer Society.

Sunday marks the first Birdie's for Birthdays golf tournament, which took place at the Comanche trail golf course.

"These people need our love and support," Ryan Meza, a tournament player, said. "We just thought let's have a golf tournament and donate some money."

The American Cancer Society works year round to save lives by helping people stay well and get well.

The event will help find cures and fight back against cancer.
