Salvation Army to hold school supply drive

Amarillo, TX - School will be back in session before you know it, and one local group is working to help families prepare to get back in the groove.

The Salvation Army of Amarillo is holding a new school supply drive Saturday, July 25 at Walmart near I-27 and Georgia.

The event will run from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., but if you're not able to make it at that time, there will be several drop-off locations around town until August 15.

Any day from 11:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m., you can drop off supplies at the bin at two Little Caesars Pizza locations - Bell Street and 34th Avenue and Amarillo Boulevard and Mirror Street.

Also, any day from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 a.m., you can drop off your donations at Applebee's near Amarillo Boulevard and Tascosa Drive.

School supplies needed include:  Glue, scissors, crayons, glue sticks, Kleenex boxes, map pencils, pencils, pens (red/blue/black), notebooks (wide rule), pencil boxes, highlighters, markers, 4/5 pocket folders and flash drives.
