Amarillo, TX - The town of Claude is about to get a whole lot sweeter, with sweet corn that is.
Claude is excited to welcome Gee Family Sweet Corn as one of the newest businesses in town.
This isn't your average corn.
This corn comes from the hard work of a family of six who has recently decided to turn a hobby into a business.
"This year we were wanting to grow our business and we came across a man in Dumas named Willy Weick that was selling and [had] been doing it for 27 years and selling sweet corn at the markets," Tim and Michelle Gee, owners of Gee Family Sweet Corn, said. "He was retiring, so we basically bought his business and it's grown hugely."
The Gee family harvests wheat, pumpkins and even sells popcorn.
They have 4 boys who have grown up on the farm and contribute to the business immensely.
Rumor has it, this corn is the best in the Panhandle, and can be bought at future farmers' markets in Amarillo.
