Amarillo man pleads guilty to child pornography possession

AMARILLO - An Amarillo man has pleaded guilty to one count of possession of child pornography, according to U.S. District Attorney's Office in Dallas.

Brent Michael McClain, 39, faces up to 20 years in a federal prison and a $250,000 fine if sentenced to the maximum penalty. A sentencing date has not been set.

According to plea documents filed in the case, an undercover FBI agent found McClain in an online peer-to-peer (P2P) file-sharing community. McClain initiated a conversation with the agent and later gave him access to his shared files, the documents state. The agent found and downloaded approximately 30 images and one video of child pornography, including at least one image of a prepubescent male.

The U.S. District Attorney's Office in Dallas says the case was brought as part of a nationwide initiative to fight the child exploitation and abuse. More information about Project Safe Childhood can be found by clicking this link.
