Amarillo man dies in two-vehicle wreck

Amarillo, TX - Texas Department of Public Safety troopers say one man was killed when two pick-ups collided late Thursday night.

At around 11:00 p.m., troopers say 56 year-old Carlos Maldonado was driving a pick-up and turning onto US 287 from Parsley Road in Potter County, when he failed to yield right-of-way to another pick-up traveling on 287.

Maldonado, who troopers say was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.

The other driver was also taken to the hospital, but is listed in stable condition.
