Amarillo, TX - The annual Fill the Boot campaign raised more than $58,000 this year.
The campaign was held in Amarillo on the 17, 18, and 19 of June, helping save and improve the lives of people fighting muscle disease in the Amarillo area.
Chelsea Nichols, the Fundraising Coordinator, was grateful for Amarillo's support.
"For six decades, firefighters have fueled MDA's mission to find treatments and cures for life-threatening muscle diseases, and this year's Amarillo's Fill the Boot results are a perfect example of the true dedication Amarillo Fire Department name and Professional Fire Fighters Association Local 542 has toward supporting the families we serve," Nichols said.
Money raised also helps support MDA's life-enhancing programs, such as state-of-the-art support groups and clinics, including two MDA clinics in West Texas.
